Nyctophy was created to measure the effectiveness of serious games with heart rate monitoring support from the two interfaces (Virtual Reality and Keyboard and Mouse) used. It is also due to the lack of variety of therapies for people with nyctophobia.
We have evaluated this game with physiological response (Heart Rate). The result is that VR produces a higher heart rate response, indicating a greater level of immersion.
Player will navigate through the dark house to find the generator, as shown. Turning on the generator will turn on the lights, but it is not permanent.
Then player will continue searching for a new fuse to turn on the lights permanently.
Lastly, player will be tasked to install lightbulbs in an empty socket.
